Saturday at Seafair

a few boats went out Saturday afternoon to provide a bit of colour off Willingdon Beach for the Seafair crowd.

There are a LOT of Catalinas so let’s get out there.

If you don’t have a Catalina 27, crew on another boat!

Meet at the north ferry terminal picnic table at 9:00 AM

Even if you don’t race, come and join us for the BBQ, to be held at Laura’s house (6926 Victoria St)

on the south side of Grief Point Park. .

Time approximately after the race-4:00 PM

Bring you own chairs, beverage, meat, and potluck-plates and glasses available.

Quadra Island cruise

We left Powell River on Friday July 10 at 5pm and sailed part of the way to Finn Bay where we spent the night at the provincial dock.

We were welcome by Stephen, Barbra and Jasper Mohan who gave us a tour of the blue house they live in on Sevilla Island.

What a peaceful place!

They also gave us a tour of Carlotta who had her brand new mast on. For all the details about the extensive restauration the boat went through, visit their website.

We left Finn Bay Saturday at 9:30 am and sailed around Hernando. When the wind died we motored the rest of the way to Quadra. We arrived at Heriot Bay at 3pm and checked if other boats from the sailing club were there but did not find anyone. We decided to anchor in Drew Harbour. The water was a little fresh to swim but we did anyway. The beer was cold and refreshing at the Heriot Inn. After a quiet evening and night we motored and sailed part of the way back on Sunday. When we reached Atrevida buoy the southeast wind picked up and not just a little, up to probably 25 knots. Quidam was bouced around but brought us back to the harbour safely.
