2011 Parade of Lights

Powell River was delighted to see the traditional Parade of Lights return to her shore line after missing a year in 2010.  The parade was a great success with  six decorated boats sailing up the coast from Grief Point to past Willingdon Beach with the Coast Guard following close behind. 



 Both the audience on land and the crews on the water welcomed the warm, dry, calm weather which made for a comfortable parade.  After the parade, the skippers and their crews met at the Canadian Legion Hall to warm up and enjoy tea and snacks provided by Quality Foods. The Powell  River Yacht Club THANKS the Skippers and Crews, the People of Powell River and the sponsors that helped make this year's event the wonderful experience it was.  Thanks Quality Foods for providing snacks for the after parade awards ceremony.  Thanks to the merchants that provided prizes:
