Algerine Passage Race "Notice To Race"

The Annual Algerine Passage Race is scheduled for May 22nd. Skippers' meeting to be held the evening before @ 1900. The 2011 race starts off of Westview, proceeds to Comox Harbour via Grants Reef bouy. If the race is a repeat of last year's race, the day will be awesome.

Dream Speaker West Coast Adventure

Easter Opti Sailing at Mowat Bay

Five youth attended an impromptu sail on Powell Lake on Saturday, April 22nd. Light winds and warm air made for a very nice day on the water. The club set up two Optis for the youth to peak their interest for summer sailing.

April 16th Spring Lunch Cruise

18 brave souls showed up promptly at 10:00 raring to go in spite of the 3 degree temperatures and snow at 08:00 am. Their courage was rewarded with sunny skies and brisk breeze and wonderful sailing in paradise. The skippers and crew sailed over to Van Anda, hiked up the hill to the Texada Inn and enjoyed the ambiance and hospitality of Dan and Mariane De Vita. After lunch, the crews made their way back to the harbour for an awesome return sail to Powell River. What a wonderful start to the cruising season. Thanks skippers for hosting club members on you boats.

April 9th Campfire and Hot Dog Roast

A great time was had by 25 Yacht Club members and friends at Willingdon Beach. The day was very nice with warm temperatures and little wind. We will be going for a repeat performance on Sunday, May 29th. Watch for details as the time nears.
